Bitch is at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas, this weekend! Now in its 8th year, FFFFest (Fx4, to abbrev-loving Austinites) is the only genre-based festival in the country, with stages for comedy, hip hop/electronica, punk/metal, and indie rock. We were last at Auditorium Shores two years ago, and it's good to be back. Read on for our discoveries and recommendations for the rest of the weekend! If you're at the Fest, let us know who you're most excited about in the comments.
You might have missed it earlier this week because you were doing something more important with your time—like Jazzercising, or building a tiny city out of Triscuit crackers and cream cheese, or watching some kind of filibuster—but some conservative strategists have decided that, in order to court those darned Millennials who failed to elect Romeny in 2012, they are going to have to start talking to them on their terms.
Quiz: Is this still from... a) Jenny Slate's new short Eff-You you Effing Eff-wad? b) a promo from the 2009 Quirkfest Filmfest?
or c) Juno II: All Grown Up?
It's actually from Obvious Child, a short film by Gillian Robespierre which combines a little of all of the above, but with one major difference: it's a funny, well-made movie that deals with unplanned pregnancy. (Spoiler alert: she gets an abortion and doesn't think twice about it!) Read on for the full film!
It's finally here, the moment you've been waiting for all week long. No, we're not talking about tonight's episode of Mad Men (but omg what is going to happen to Joan?), we're talking about FEMINIZT LOLZ!!! Why? Because LOLz are watching even when we aren't. Check out what their sharp eyes caught on television this week!
In this case, that seems like a good thing. Way to go, Sonia!
And what about television this week? From the disappointing premiere of The Good Wife to the stereotype-laden The Witches of Eastwick, this hasn't been a great television season for women so far. Will things get any better?
Hmm . . . She must be talking about Cougar Town.
Sigh. What would we do without LOLz? Be a lot sadder, that's what. So if you've got some feminizt LOLz hiding up your sleeve, send them our way! Have a grate weekend.
