This video of Nate Smith and Freddi Scheib acting out romantic comedy press junket interviews reminds us that rom coms are usually ridiculous and starring some white guy plus Jennifer Aniston. The faux movie posters are my favorite part—I would be the first in line to see Justin Timberlake in The Love Goat. Make it happen, Hollywood!

Help me out here, blogosphere. The Internet (OK, my tiny corner of it) has been blowing up since yesterday with people LOLing at this Shit Girls Say video (inspired by this Twitter account) created by Graydon Sheppard and his boyfriend, Kyle Humphrey. The video is just a dude (Sheppard) wearing a wig saying things like "Can you read this and see if it makes sense?" and "I know, right?" while he does regular things like get a drink at a bar, try on clothes, or work at a computer. I figured before watching—based on the name and the nature of the buzz surrounding it—that I'd be put off by the project, but honestly that's not it. I seriously just DO NOT GET IT AT ALL. Are we laughing because it's a guy in a wig? (Hey wig guy, Thunderant called and they want their whole deal back.) Have we lowered the bar to the point where rummaging through a purse equals comedy gold? Am I just too girly to find this funny? (Note: I don't think I'm generally too girly to find things funny.)

We were big fans of Jenny Hagel's last video series Feminist Rapper, so you can imagine our delight when she tipped us off to her latest work, the short film Tech Support, directed by Erik Gernand. If you've got nine minutes to spare this afternoon, why not spend them watching a lesbian comedy about women finding love over a tech support hotline? (Warning: This video may be considered mildly NSFW, especially around the time that one of the women starts tapping out "In Your Eyes" in Morse Code on her stapler. Seriously.) Check it out:

From Joe Wilson to that death panel lady, everyone has healthcare on the brain lately (or at least we think they do – who can afford a CAT scan these days?). This includes the folks at Funny or Die, who put this video together. Jon Hamm, Linda Cardellini, AND public healthcare? We'll take it.

I usually try to stay away from the forces of darkness, but last week I killed a famous vampire – and let me tell you, it was fun! Actually, I didn’t stake him myself — I used new media tools to allow one of the strongest female television characters of our generation to do it. OK, let me back up a minute. Last week, at the Open Video Conference at NYU Law School, I debuted my feminist mash-up video, Buffy v. Edward. It’s an example of transformative storytelling which reinterprets the movie Twilight by re-cutting and combining it with the TV series Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.

If you haven't checked out the Midwest Teen Sex Show yet, it's not too late. When it comes to frank yet funny sex talk, this video cast is so good it almost makes me wish I was a clueless, awkward teen again (Say it with me now, "♪ Allllllll-most! ♪"). At first, when I heard there was a video out there in response to the SNL/Lonely Island's Pet Shop Boys-esque "Jizz In My Pants" that was calling itself a "ladies' response", I was psyched. I love when funny ladies do things! And think of the hilarious possibilities to be had with a "Jizz In My Pants" response! So you can imagine my dismay when I learned that a) the video was written and made by a group of men and just features women, and b) the video is actually a commercial for the ridiculous fake engagement ring company Ms. Taken.

Although, like always, there is a lot of hard-hitting feminist news coming down the wire today (this New York Times article on women's studies programs comes to mind), sometimes it's nice to just kick back and watch some video clips. After all, it's Wednesday, and we could all use a media-fueled brain break every once in awhile.

In the interest of said brain break, here is a collection of feminist-themed internet videos. So put on your headphones, tilt your computer monitor away from your boss's line of vision, and prepare to be enlightened, entertained, enthralled, and maybe even enraged. (And if you can think of another adjective that begins with "en" you might be that as well.)
