Labor & Love Print
Issue #27, Winter 2005
Art Director: Andrea Feldman
Illustrator: Andi Zeisler
Photographer: Jeffery Walls
Working on an issue whose content covered many of the intersections of how people live their passions while also making a living had us thinking about the fast-changing fortunes and seemingly arbitrary moments that define us. The human impulse to want to see into the future brought to mind a modern deck of fortune-telling cards, with the classic, medieval imagery of the Tarot replaced by quotidian pictures of a modern life where the boundaries between labor and love are often so blurry as to disappear entirely. The mixed-media cards shown here were the only three created, but perhaps, someday, we’ll make a full deck.
Our 15th-anniversary series prints offer something for every taste. Featuring some of our favorite covers from Bitch's 15-year history, the limited-edition prints offer gorgeous photos, cool illustrations, nifty typography, and lots of color to perk up your living space. All 15 designs are archival giclee* prints on high-quality, heavy watercolor paper, and are suitable for framing. And if you just can't decide, maybe you need more than one — after all, they'll look pretty great hanging side by side.
*A very high-quality, archival inkjet print that creates very fine detail and vivid color, used by artists to reproduce work with a high degree of integrity to the original.
