Bitch Media Sponsorship
What is sponsorship?
Sponsorship is a charitable contribution to a nonprofit organization, generally from a business or organization, which is given in support of the nonprofit’s programs. Businesses may choose to support a nonprofit through sponsorship due to shared values, an interest in supporting the nonprofit’s programs and mission, the desire to be associated with the nonprofit, or the benefits associated with sponsorship....or all of these factors! Sponsorship programs often recognize supporting businesses by offering benefits in the form of visibility and marketing opportunities.
What is the difference between sponsorship and advertising?
Sponsorship is a financial contribution to a nonprofit organization, as opposed to a direct purchase of ad space. Although sponsorship programs often offer business supporters various forms of visibility and marketing-related benefits, sponsorship is, at its heart, a contribution to support the work that the organization does. Here at Bitch Media, we receive support from businesses that identify with our mission, values and vision...and vice versa! We seek to engage in strategic partnerships – with sponsors, vendors, collaborators, or any other business partner – that enhance the organization’s mission and values. We are also committed to recognizing our sponsors through visibility opportunities that present factual information, which we feel is the ethical way to uphold the mission and values of an independent media organization.
As a nonprofit, independent, feminist media organization, it is important to us to recognize our business supporters as just that – businesses that support our mission – rather than just advertisers whose sole interest is marketing their business or product. Sure, they want to do that, too, but our sponsors are first and foremost partners in fulfilling our mission. Make sense? We hope so!
Why sponsor Bitch Media?
Your support of Bitch Media helps us to fulfill our mission to provide a feminist critique and analysis of pop culture, to encourage discussion about how the media influences us, and to promote the need to connect engagement in pop culture with social-justice activism.
Sponsorship provides vital support that we can rely on to produce our programs, which include the magazine – Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture, our website/blog – bitchmedia.org, and our podcast – Bitch Radio. Additionally, we recognize our sponsors through these various forms of media, so as a sponsor you can support the work that we do, and receive the benefit of visibility with our audience.
