Snarky's Machine

Snarky’s Machine is a writer, pop culturalist and a Barney Miller enthusiast. Raised in Greece, Germany and Southern California, she’s has been unsuccessful in her attempts to jettison her “military brat” accent. During her youth, Snarky’s Machine cultivated her appreciation of pop culture through summers spent adhering to a rigorous diet of 70s game shows, sitcoms and Dirty Harry movies. In college, she developed her trademark sharp and irreverent pop cultural analysis through careful study of feminist, sociological and literary theory. Miss Machine holds a MFA in Creative Writing, took first prize in the hotly contested 1983 Iraklion Air Station “Fire Prevention Week” poster contest – learn not to burn, people – and speaks fluent Lebowski. Throughout her diverse career, Snarky’s Machine, has worked as a Sex Health Educator, Personal Assistant, Coffee Slinger, Go Go Dancer, HIV Case Manager, Grant Writer/Manager, Project Manager, Communications and Marketing Guru, Workshop Facilitator and a host of other jobs utilizing her flawless writing skills and encyclopedic knowledge of obscure pop culture references.

Snarky’s Machine founded the pop culture blog I Fry Mine in Butter and writes an office supply blog Does This Pen Write?. Her irreverent take on pop culture has been featured in Bitch Magazine: The Feminist Response to Pop Culture where she blogs about movies under the handle Snarky’s Cinemachine.

Snarky’s Machine believes Jessica Fletcher killed most of those people; when she's resisting the kyriarchy you'll find her writing her one woman show The Intergalactic Diva Network, talking back to the television and rearranging the contents of her Fight Club fridge.
