I like to say that I'm a writer, a feminist, a political junkie, a wine snob, a profligate potty mouth, a shit-starter and a truth-teller. I'm also a workaholic.

I am an Associate Editor at Talking Points Memo. Prior to joining TPM, I was the editor of news and politics at Air America, an editor at Jezebel and the associate editor at Wonkette. My work still appears regularly on The Gloss, where I write an advice column, and in The Guardian's Comment is free. It has also been published in Bitch magazine, the Washington Post, the Washington Independent, Foreign Policy's "Madame Secretary" blog, Glamour's Glamocracy, Ms. magazine, RH Reality Check, the Women's Media Center, On The Issues, Women's eNews, Attackerman, Us Weekly, Spinner and Crushable.

Prior to becoming a journalist, I spent seven years as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C.. I has a Bachelor's degree in German literature and Sociology from Boston University and a Masters of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
