Welcome to Minnesota Nice

One of the best parts about my job as publisher is coming across other inspiring projects and people — folks creating zines, starting multimedia projects, worker cooperatives, childcare cooperatives, radio projects, art collectives, community gardens, infoshops... This blog will share some of these, as well as reports from my travels as I venture out into the world to build support for our work.

I'll post random things here, too, like what we're up to, where we're headed, and probably the occasional photo of squirrels playing in snow. If you're into that sort of thing, check back. 

The title, Minnesota Nice, refers to the perception that we Minnesotans (Midwesterners, really) go out of our way to be nice and courteous yet are also smilingly stubborn and passively hostile. I'd like to think my stubbornness and hostility are justified and direct, but it probably depends on who you ask. Anyway. I use the term here with nothing but love for the Midwest. 

Comments, suggestions, stories of creative uprisings and inspired DIY media/culture are all welcome. So are photos of woodland creatures, fancy accordions, and fields of sugar beets.
