Spring = Change

SPRING = CHANGE
Spring is in the air – flowers are blooming, people are humming and folks are falling in and out of love. Here's a soundtrack for change....

1. Bon Iver - Skinny Love
A catchy and tragic song about the raw emotions of love and letting go. If this is what 3 months in a cabin in Wisconsin can create – we should all be so lucky.

2. The Breeders – Bang On
Danceable, yet sad and lonely. The song you listen to when you're trying to figure out what happened and why you are alone. Nice to see Kim Deal still making music.

3. The Blow – Come on Petunia
A nice take on the Police song. Love the line….You're all Jenny and Lindsey and fine and I'm underwater, shedding my mind. The story of complete infatuation.

4. Mercury Rev – People Are So Unpredictable (There's No Bliss Like Home)
One moon, one you... and one chance to kiss you….there's no bliss like home.

5. Wolf Parade – Fine Young Cannibals
No idea where the name of this song comes from but love the verse, 'I will crawl right back to you; under the smoldering summer sky; I'll be there soon.'

6. Starfucker – Florida
Guilty pleasure song about long distance love from a couple of guys from Portland, OR. They are playing in the Rose City this weekend.

7. M.I.A. with Timbaland – Come Around
OK, so I just love her and wanted to hear this song – could totally do without the Timbaland portion…. 'come to my teepee' what's up with that?

8. The Juan Maclean – Happy House
Thought we should end the mix by throwing a dance party and wishing everyone a happy house. Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem is a great addition -- thanking her lover for being so 'damn excellent'. Hopefully, we can all be so lucky! Launch me into space…..

my stars

why, Jani Iverson, who knew you had such indie rock roots?
Skinny Love is soundtracking my life right now. Obsession threatens. JustinVernonJustinVernonJustinVernon.

Brackett, W9 on Dark is the Night is a favorite as well.

But why won't that song play? Confound it! Fix the mix, please!

I KNOW.....

Bon Iver has been following me around as well -- started actively promoting Justin Vernon to all of my friends...just to make sure he's within listening distance wherever I go.

Will check in to fixing the mix! Thanks for listening.

This mix is made of awesome.

Jumping on the Justin Vernon love bandwagon - have you seen this collabo between him and Lykke Li? I smiled throughout the whole thing. Totally appropriate for lovely-hang-out-together-outside-with-friends-Spring-sessions.

{I know, I know. More than 6 words}.

I love it!

You are all so cool. This mix is awesome! I heart BitchTapes; it's one of my favorite internet moments of the week. (btw Belin, I think it's time you made another one...)

Nice!!!

This is wonderful. I was just listening to that M.I.A./Timbaland song the other day. Jani, you kick ass.

Gaa!

Fantastic! My favorite Blow song of all time has made the list!!!! The first time I heard it, I was in the car with a friend and made the poor girl play that thing 12 times before we actually moved on to the next track. No exaggeration.

I listened to this all

I listened to this all weekend! Well done!

The spring goes, spring road!

6. Starfucker, Florida - Yes! Yes! Yes! Most of all it was pleasant...
Well and still here these two: The Breeders, Bang On & Wolf Parade, Fine Young Cannibals... )))
But, I love summer!
