This month's article from the Bitch archives is a flashback to Issue #11 (before there were even themes!), where a young Kira Garcia tags along for 1990's Sister Spit tour. Check out her tour diary, "Why Don't We do it on the road" online!

Check out their tour dates below or visit their official site (they're also heading out again next April).

Aaaaaack, no Boston?!

Aaaaaack, no Boston?!

Kicking myself

They were just in my city, and I missed them. Had I known Ariel Schrag was there, I would have tried my damnedest to rearrange my work schedule. I had the chance to interview Ms. Tea two years ago, and she is very interesting, though I don't always enjoy her work. Schrag, though, is probably my favorite graphic writer (except for maaaaybe Spiegelman.) If only I had done a bit more research.

Because of this Tweet

Because of the tweet with a link to this article from BitchMedia, I was blessed with 24 hours notice that the crew would be an hour from my house on Tuesday, 10/6. I went with my six-year-old in tow and in a word: abso-fucking-lutely-amazing.
Some of it was laugh-so-hysterically-you-can-hardly-hear-the-speaker.
Some of it was gut-wrenching and eye opening and burning tears.

I'm convinced people are better humans after they've been witness to Kirya Traber.

My daughter and I were lucky enough to see and speak to some of these women and I am eternally grateful.
