Sex and the Fat Girl: Win Tickets to Erica Watson's "Fat Bitch!"

"Fat Bitch!" is a one-woman show put on by Erica Watson, an actress, stand-up comedian and film/television director. According to the flyer, "Fat Bitch!" is:

[...] a funny yet thought-provoking look at how society's obsession with weight, race, class and gender stereotypes affect us all!

Through personal vignettes, anecdotes and video clips, "Fat Bitch!" offers a humorous and honest glimpse at the American "fat and sassy" black woman stereotypes that continue to influence modern day images of black women. Written and performed by Watson as a hybrid of theater and stand-up comedy, "Fat Bitch!" responds to how black women and their bodies have always been subjected to sexualized admiration and ridicule.

Plainly put, "Fat Bitch!" targets society's racial, gender, class and body prejudices through a comedic performance that is educational and entertaining all at once!

Watson, who is a commentator for the TV Guide Network, Oxygen and BET graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Film and TV (1998), and a MA in Media Management (2005).

"Fat Bitch!" is being presented by Columbia College Chicago and Producer/Director Steve Pink. Proceeds will benefit the Columbia College Chicago Alumni Scholarship Fund.

I will be reviewing the April 30 show for this column, and I'm interviewing Ms. Watson after the show. YOU can win two tickets to either the April 29, 30 or May 1st shows, at 8 p.m., 8 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively. The show is in Los Angeles at the Greenway Court Theater. Go to my website, Sex and the Fat Girl, and fill out the form. You can also send me your e-mail via my contact page here at Bitch. A winner will be chosen at random on April 28.
