Q It Up

Are you out, proud and ... femme? You owe it to yourself to check out Kami Chisholm's FTF: Female to Femme, a documentary celebrating the femme identity. It features such legendary female-identified females as actress and writer Guinivere Turner, novelist and activist Jewelle Gomez, poet Meliza Bañales and rock stars Leslie Mah (Tribe8) and Bitch (Bitch & Animal). The best part? Bitch magazine is sponsoring this entry in QDoc, Portland's queer documentary film festival. It screens Saturday, May 31, at 6:30 p.m. at the Clinton St. Theater.
Other intriguing festival offerings include Living with Pride: Ruth C. Ellis @100, about an active, out lesbian who just happens to be 100 years old, and The Universe of Keith Haring, about the pivotal 1980s artist. For a complete schedule, check out www.queerdocfest.org
