On Our Radar: Feminist News Roundup

Here's all the feminist new on our radar today:

• Bitch made a music video! We turned our office into a dance party (complete with a fog machine and a catsuit) to kick off our year-end fundraising drive. Watch the video here.

Okay, moving on to news that doesn't involve dancing around our office.

Watching your video made me

Watching your video made me tear a bit because of the emotion of of oh-how-I-wish-to-be-a-part-of-this-you-are-doing-such-a-great-work! This is positive and joyful and makes me happy being a feminist :)

The chemist story is scary for multiple reasons.....

The article about the chemist screwing up evidence is frightening. The fact that thousands of prisoners are potentially innocent is appalling. But to be honest, another disturbing aspect of the story and what sort of made my heart sink when I first read the story was finding out the chemist was a woman. Now of course the misogynists will be coming out and saying crap like, "this is why women don't belong in science!!!" or "women need to stay in the kitchen!" or some other disgusting crap like that. We all know if this person was a man, there would never be anything said about his entire gender, treating him like he's a monolith; they would bash him as an individual. In 2013, many people unfortunately still don't see women as individuals. So this article is disturbing and sad on MANY different levels.

The accused in the Fort Hood

The accused in the Fort Hood case is a male E-8, Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO)--shouldn't be referred to as simply an officer.

I think it might be beneficial if Bitch did a little coverage on it! It is really frustrating!

Any WOC at Bitch?

So, I love your magazine, but this video made me feel like you have very few (and I mean very few) women of color working for bitch. This is pretty upsetting. Can you set the record straight?
