Monday Fuzzies: Seattle School of Rock Covers Bikini Kill

I got a full night's worth of sleep and the weather is beautiful in Portland, but sometimes you just need a little more to get through a Monday. So, consider this clip my gift to you:

Seeing those girls give Kathleen Hanna a run for her money just makes my riot grrrl heart grow three sizes bigger.

Love what you're reading here? Then you'll love Bitch magazine. The reviews are snappy, the analysis in-depth, the writers are downright sharp, and the illustrations so often belong in a frame that you'll have to move over other artwork.

If you don't have a subscription to our award-winning 80-page quarterly magazine, it's definitely time to start one.

Really? Kathleen Hanna?

No disrespect to to these courageous young singers, but how come the musicians appear to all be dudes? Where are the girl guitarists, bassists, drummers????

While I agree with you...

I think the guitarist (or bassist?) on the right is a girl (if you look on the youtube page, the person who filmed the performance apologizes for not getting all of the participants in the shot). I'm also, personally, excited to see guys playing, rather than ghettoizing Bikini Kill as a band that only girls can like and pay homage to.

I love this.
