Love for the AMC

If your idea of a media conference includes a focus on social justice, community building, and creative, participatory media, I strongly encourage you to attend the Allied Media Conference. June 20-June 22nd, in the incredible city of Detroit.

Back in 1999 when the AMC started, it was mostly a conference for zinesters. These days there are more bloggers than zinesters, but with the shift has come a much more vibrant, exciting conception of what media creation/production can be, and how we can use it to organize for social change. 

Last year the conference was moved from Bowling Green to Detroit, and organizers made a concerted effort to foreground the voices of young folks and people of color, making the experience all the more incredible.
