Since 1999, the AMC has been bringing together grassroots media producers and organizers, educators, students, and artists to build an independent, participatory media movement.

It's the only conference I consistently attend, and I always leave inspired, encouraged, and re-energized to continue the work of building an independent media movement. It's a rare opportunity for grassroots media creators and supporters to strategize about ways to sustain our work in an increasingly commercialized culture.

The conference, now rooted in the amazing city of Detroit, runs the weekend of Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 22.
