Join us at our library in Portland this Sunday for zines and snacks with Anne Elizabeth Moore, author of the brand new book Cambodian Grrrl: Self-Publishing in Phnom Penh.

Cambodian Grrrl chronicles Moore's experiences teaching zinemaking to a group of young Cambodia women in Phnom Penh, and highlights lessons she learned about "women's rights, the politics of corruption, the failures of democracy, the mechanism of globalization, and a profound emotional connection that can only be called love." Moore will be at our library to share some of the zines she brought back from Cambodia and to talk about her time teaching zinemaking as activism.

Come meet Anne Elizabeth Moore, page through zines created by young Cambodian women, check out some books from our library, and hang out around the snack table!

If it’s your first time visiting the library, make sure to bring a photo ID so we can get you signed up to borrow books. And if you've yet to purchase a copy of Cambodian Grrrl, make sure to bring some money so that you can buy yourself a copy at the event.

Our library is located in Portland at 4930 NE 29th Ave (right off Alberta Street). The open house will be happening from 1-3pm.
