Early to Rise: Sex Toys for Smart Guys (and Everyone Else)
We here at Bitch are longtime fans of the Chicago-based feminist sex shop Early to Bed. Imagine our delight, then (and yours too potentially) when we learned of Early to Bed's new brother venture, Early to Rise! (How cute are those two names, by the way? Sex has never been so adorable!)
While Early to Bed caters mainly to the ladies (which is awesome), Early to Rise bills itself as the place to go for "sex toys for smart guys" (which is also awesome). Sex toys they have, to be sure, but they also have so much more!
For instance, there are three great advice columnists working 'round the clock at Early to Rise to answer your (or a dude you know's) pressing sex questions. The blog just started and already experts (or is that sexperts?) Jim, Hudson, and J-Mo have provided answers to burning questions like, Why can't my girlfriend orgasm with me?, What do I do if I'm gay but don't enjoy anal sex?, and What if my girlfriend likes her vibrator better than me? All questions are answered with straightforward, solid advice that could prove useful to men and non-men alike. (As a non-man myself, I've already learned a few things.)
Early to Rise is an online store as well as a place to get advice and sex tips for all sorts of occasions, and they have lots to choose from in the sex accessory (sexcessory?) department. To help the discerning customer, they also provide informative reviews (they are hiring reviewers right now, so if you're male-identified and into writing about sexcessories you should get in touch). Check out this honest and charming review of The Packing Strap by Aaron Leone:
The folks at Early to Rise do a great job taking out some of the stigma that might come with a male-oriented sex site. There is nothing misogynistic or creepy about their approach to sex, and they really encourage visitors to educate themselves (with the help of the site) and explore what they want out of their sexual experiences. The advice bloggers are funny but never at the expense of the people seeking advice, the sex tips are helpful and pretty inclusive (and they seem open to including more if you contact them, and the whole organization is sex-positive and inviting regardless of your orientation, gender identity (though they are targeting male-identified folks), or experience level.
So, it must be true what they say: Early to Bed, Early to Rise, makes a man (or woman) healthy and happy, sex-wise! (Too much? Don't hold it against them – I came up with that one myself.)
