Design Week Portland 2013 Picks

Three images of Portland designers: A tomboy bra from Wildfang, a carved Design Week Portland logo shot by Ethan Allen Smith, and a Kate Bingamann-Burt window installation.

Design Week Portland takes over the Rose City this week, including many events that highlight the work of feminist, queer, and female artists. There are dozens of events, so Bitch Art Director Kristin Rogers Brown and Museum of Contemporary Craft Associate Curator Sarah Margolis-Pineo put together this list of some favorite picks.

Be sure to sign up to attend, though many events are free or low-cost, they fill up fast. With 100+ events in the mix, if one of their picks fills up, there's bound to be something else of interest you could attend instead. Or, just head out to Open Houses, and sneak a peek behind the work scenes in a different quadrant each evening.

Definitely don't miss the Designing Women panel that Bitch is co-sponsoring on Thursday!

Just what it sounds like: a good time. And our own Kristin Rogers Brown is co-organizing this one.
