Buy This Print: Home & Away!
Now you can buy limited-edition prints of some of our favorite Bitch covers! To celebrate our 15th anniversary, we've got 15 archival giclee prints to choose from, all on high-quality, heavy watercolor paper, suitable for framing. Each print offers gorgeous photos, cool illustrations, nifty typography, and lots of color to perk up your living space. To show you what they look like in action, we'll be highlighting a different print on the blog each day in its natural habitat. Today we have Home & Away, hung, fittingly, in Kristin's home.
Home & Away: Issue 27, Winter 2005
Art Director: Andrea Feldman
Photographer: Jeffery Walls
Astroturf, black foamcore, and a couple of studio lights made the little house on the cover of this issue an emblem of the anomie and conflict engendered by the concept of "home." As we wrote in this issue's Editors' Letter, "The idea of home as the place where we are most ourselves looms large in the American imagination, and its psychic potential to transform us is as powerful as our literal imperative to transform it." Fittingly, the blank canvas of a building (created for us by architect pal Hugh Hynes), while transformed by a collage of photos, maps, and found letters and fabric, retains an eerie sense of longing.
Only 12 of these limited-edition prints remain! Don't leave home without one!
