How to Manage Your B-Hive Membership

Using the B-Hive Management Tab in your BitchMedia.org account

Log in to your account.
Click on the “Manage B-Hive ” tab.

How to Access Digital Issues of Bitch magazine
Digital editions of Bitch magazine are a benefit to current B-Hive members. When the latest digital edition is published, you will receive a notification email with a quick-access link. If you aren't logged in when you click on the link, you wil need to log in. Then, you can access your digital editions under the "Files" tab on your account. Status
Your membership is currently active if your last monthly membership donation went through successfully. On your B-Hive membership tab, your status will say “active.”

If your last automatic monthly charge or e-check was unsuccessful (or if you canceled your membership), your status will not be "active" and your billing address, status and subscription type will be highlighted in orange. If you pay by credit card, suspension could be due to a change in your billing address (did you move?) or your expiration date or card number having changed (did you receive a new card?). Or, perhaps your card was declined due to an overdrawn balance the date we attempted to charge you. Bank security is growing ever more complex, so it may be due to another reason as well. See below for information on how to update your address and/or payment information and to resume your membership online. Updating Your Billing and/or Mailing Address
Above your mailing address (and if you pay by credit card, above your billing address), you will see an update link. Click the link and fill in your complete new address. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a box saying “My billing address is the same as my mailing address” (or vice-versa). Check this box to update both at the same time. IMPORTANT: If your membership is suspended due to a change in billing address, first update your address(es). Then, click the "resume" button on your main B-Hive manage tab.

Updating Your Credit Card Number and/or Expiration Date
If you pay by credit card, click on the “Update My Credit Card” link in the upper right. Please fill in ALL of your credit card information, even if you just have a new expiration date. IMPORTANT: if your membership is suspended, after you update your credit card information, you also need to click the "resume" button on your main B-Hive manage tab.

Updating Your Bank Information
If you pay by e-check, click on the “Update My Bank Information” link in the upper left. IMPORTANT: if your membership is suspended, after you update your bank information, you also need to click the "resume" button on your main B-Hive manage tab.

How to Resume Your Membership
If all of your payment information is current in your B-Hive account here, and your bank account is in good standing, click “Resume” to re-activate your membership. You will be charged at that time for the current month’s installment.

Changing Your Payment Type
If you pay by credit card, you can switch to e-check or vice-versa, just see the links at the top of your management tab. E-check (also called ACH or EFT) is a direct electronic payment from your bank account, rather than a credit card payment. As a B-Hive member, paying by e-check is an easy payment option because you won’t have to contact us when you are issued a new debit card, or if your card gets stolen (we hope that never happens!).

Changing Your Subscription Type
B-Hive members all receive the quarterly Bitch magazine digitally. You are also eligible to receive it in print. Your selected preference is shown under “Subscription Type.” You can switch to start or stop receiving the print edition by clicking the “Change” link.

Annual Tax Receipts
You will receive a comprehensive tax receipt for the prior year in January or February. It will itemize your B-Hive membership donations, and any other donations which you made that year. It will state that the fair-market value of the print issues of Bitch magazine are $6.24 per issue received per year. Because B-Hive members can choose to stop and start receiving print issues at any time, we do not itemize how many print issues you have received within a year. All other B-Hive benefits qualify per Internal Revenue Service guidelines as not substantial and thereby do not decrease the deductible amount of your annual B-Hive charitable contribution.

Suspending Your Membership
If you need to suspend your B-Hive membership, click the suspend link under Status: Active. Hopefully we can welcome you back soon!
