How to Manage Your B-Hive Membership

LOG IN TO BITCHMEDIA.ORG AND GO TO YOUR B-HIVE MANAGE TAB

1. Click here to Log in to your account (if you don't remember your password, click the "request new password tab.")
2. Click on the “Manage B-Hive ” tab (center of your screen).

Update Your Mailing and/or Billing Address
Above your mailing address is a green "update" link (and if you pay by credit card, there's one above your billing address, too).  Click the appropriate link and fill in your complete new address. If both your mailing and billing address changed, be sure to check the “My billing address is the same as my mailing address” box at the bottom. Click submit. IMPORTANT:  If your membership is suspended, read  "How to Resume Your Membership" below.

Update Your Credit Card Information 
If you pay by credit card, click on the “Update My Credit Card” link in the upper right and fill in ALL of your credit card information.  IMPORTANT: if your membership is suspended, after updating your credit card information click the "resume" button on your main B-Hive manage page.

Update Your Bank (ACH/e-check) Information
If you pay by e-check, click on the “Update My Bank Information” link in the upper left.  IMPORTANT: if your membership is suspended, after updating your bank information click the "resume" button on your main B-Hive manage page.

Resume Your Membership
On your main B-Hive manage page, click the green “Resume” link (under "status"). You will be charged at that time for the current month’s installment.  Note: update your credit card and/or address first!

Upgrade Your Membership
Want to share a little more love? Click the red "upgrade" button!  If you upgrade to the next level, you are eligible to receive additional benefits.

Access Digital Issues of Bitch magazine
Digital editions of Bitch magazine are a benefit to current B-Hive members.  When the latest digital edition is published, you will receive a notification email with a quick-access link.  If you aren't logged in when you click on the link, you wil need to log in.  Then, you can access your digital editions under the "Files" tab on your account. Active or suspended: What is your membership status?
Your membership is currently active if your last monthly membership donation went through successfully.  On your B-Hive membership tab, your status will say “active.”  

If a membership charge/e-check is declined, your membership will suspend.  Your "status" will not be "active" and your billing address, status and subscription type will be highlighted in orange. If your membership is suspended more than 2 months, you are likely to miss an issue of Bitch magazine. If you pay by credit card, suspension could be due to a change in your billing address (did you move?) or your payment information changed (did you receive a new credit card?). Or, perhaps your card was declined due to an overdrawn balance the date we attempted to charge you.  See above for information on how to update your address and/or payment information and resume your membership online.  If you have questions, contact us: email or call 503.282.5699 Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm, Pacific Standard Time.

Change Your Payment Type
If you pay by credit card, you can switch to e-check or vice-versa, just see the links at the top of your B-Hive manage tab.  E-check (also called ACH or EFT) is a direct electronic payment from your bank account, rather than a credit card payment.  As a B-Hive member, paying by e-check is an easy payment option because you won’t have to contact us when you are issued a new debit card, or if your card gets stolen (we hope that never happens!).

Change Your Subscription Type
B-Hive members all receive the quarterly Bitch magazine digitally.  You are also eligible to receive it in print.  Your selected preference is shown under “Subscription Type.”  You can start or stop receiving the print edition by clicking the “Change” link.

Annual Tax Receipts
We send comprehensive donor tax receipts in February.  Your receipt will itemize B-Hive membership donations and all other donations you made to Bitch Media during the prior year.  It will state that the fair-market value of the print issues of Bitch magazine are $6.24 per issue received per year.  Because B-Hive members can choose to stop and start receiving print issues at any time, we do not itemize how many print issues you have received within a year.  All other B-Hive benefits qualify per Internal Revenue Service guidelines as not substantial and thereby do not decrease the deductible amount of your annual B-Hive charitable contribution. 

Cancel Your Membership
If you need to suspend your B-Hive membership, click the "suspend"  link under Status.  We hope to welcome you back soon!
