When will I get my magazine?
Bitch magazine is quarterly, published in March, June, September, and December. Periodical mail is low priority to the postal service, regrettably, so if you live within the U.S., is could take up to 4 weeks for the magazine to get to you. If you live outside the US, it will likely take a bit longer.
- If you’re a new subscriber, you got to choose between the CURRENT or the NEXT issue.
- If you chose CURRENT: it takes between 3 - 6 weeks for your first issue to arrive, as we mail these new subscriptions en masse once a month rather than a few at a time daily (saves us money, saves you money).
- If you chose NEXT: see the months we’re published, listed above.
- If you feel that your last issue got derailed somewhere along the line, please contact us.
When does my subscription expire? When do I need to renew?
Really, you can renew whenever you like. Renewing early will save some trees, and will save Bitch money. Your renewal letters specify what issue will be your last: Spring (March), Summer (June), Fall (October), or Winter (December), followed by the year in which your subscription expires (for you multi-year folks -- thanx, we love you!). You can renew here, or if you want to phone in (877.212.4824), please tell us it's a renewal so we don’t set you up with a new subscription. Or if you’re old school and decide to send in the renewal form from the magazine, please check “renewal.”
Why am I getting renewal notices saying “last issue” when I still have more to come?
Yikes. We do apologize. It's possible that your renewal notice was sent right after we mailed your next-to-last issue, but it took the magazine longer to arrive and hence the confusion. If that doesn’t seem to be the case, send a query to customer service and we’ll get things cleared up.
Can I temporarily stop my subscription?
Yes. If your address is up in the air, or if you're going to be out of country for awhile, we can suspend your subscription. Just tell customer service your name and address (as shown on your subscription label), and when you want to stop and re-start your subscription.
Why didn't I get my magazine?
9 times out of 10, the latest issue didn't show up in your mailbox because we have your old address on file. When you change your address with the post office, oftentimes your magazines will not be forwarded at all, and USPS will send a change of address notice that may take months to arrive at Bitch HQ (assuming it arrives at all). In addition to falling behind on your consumption of feminist pop culture critique, Bitch ends up paying to print and ship a magazine twice. In other words, contact us as soon as you move to ensure proper delivery. B-HIVE MEMBERS: click here instead.
Why am I am receiving 2 copies of each issue?
Perhaps you renewed with a new address, rather than send us a change of address separately from renewing? Regardless of how it happened, just drop us a line and tell us you’re getting 2 copies—and please include the complete name and address off the labels of BOTH magazines. We’ll fix you right up! If this mistake has shortened your subscription, we’ll fix that too.
Can I receive an electronic copy of the magazine? Or a large-print version?
Digital subscriptions are in the works and will be unveiled soon. Large print would be awesome, but rather costly for a small, independent, nonprofit magazine. Care to fund a grant to work on this?
Will you rent or trade my name, email, or mailing address?
We will only use your contact information for Bitch Media correspondence.
