Here are some songs to pass the time while you put on those fenders (I gotta put on those fenders...!), patch a tube, or just plain pedal!

Portlanders, we hope you're hungry, because Bitch is teaming up with our pals over at Voodoo Doughnut for our Consumed Issue Release Party! What does this mean for you, you ask? Good question! It means: - Free doughnuts! - Texass doughnut eating contest with fabulous prizes! - Music! - Bitch! - Fun! - Free doughnuts!

So join us on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 pm at Voodoo Doughnut Too (1501 NE Davis St) for all the release-party-eating-contest-awesomeness you can handle. And be sure and let us know in advance if you're one of the brave few who wants to partake in the Texass doughnut eating competition. First come, first (very much) served. After WireTap blogger Biko Baker asked "Where is the Next Lauryn Hill?" last week bemoaning (what seemed like) the lack of women in rap and hip-hop, MC Invincible (interviewed in Bitch's Loud issue) wrote back suggesting dozens of female MCs from around the country. Check out her excellent list of recommendations and discover all the amazing female rappers you didn't know you were missing (I'm already hooked on New Jersey's Lady Luck).

inspired music—ranging from surf-punkers No Kill I to the Klingon heavy-metal band Stovokor—to see that fantasy and science- fiction fans have made music devoted to their obsessions for generations. Nothing in the history of fandom, though, can compare to wizard rock, a thriving subculture of musicians and fans devoted to Harry Potter–inspired rock ’n’ roll. But don’t let the name fool you: It’s witches, not wizards, who dominate this scene.
