reproductive freedom and the global war for power spans four
continents. From the HIV/AIDS epidemic to female circumcision to
overpopulation to infant mortality to abortion rights, Goldberg
analyzes how the means of reproduction influences the health of whole
societies--even as women's rights have been sidelined by governments
and social movements, and even as reproductive rights are weirdly
isolated as "women’s issues" only. Goldberg emphasizes how the struggle
to control women's bodies is the next great human rights struggle of
our globalized world.

While it's great to think globally, it's often beneficial to start and act locally. Futurefarmers is an art/design collective who demonstrate the power of doing just that.

to, it's great for sharing work with my design students as well as for
them to share their own work with me, and it allows me to transport
myself to places I've been and love with the click of a button (ie:
search> Lake District, England—voila—utter peace and relaxation
ensue).
The Kill Rock Stars show was great! The floor was full from noon o’clock on, when Portland locals Explode into Colors hit the stage. This three piece trio wowed the crowd outside their Pacific Northwest with Klaudia’s vocals and the awesome drumming from Lisa and Heather. The Paper Chase, Horsefeathers, Thao Nguyen and the Get Down Stay Down, Marnie Stern, and the Thermals followed!
