Internship opportunities

We have an internship program that runs throughout the year in areas of editorial, new media, community organizing, and design. If any of these interest you, please download the specific internship overview and follow the application instructions! Important: Please let us know when you'd consider doing the internship or if you are flexible on dates!

Status of Internships
Editorial Intern: Currently filled. New internship starts in September 2009.
Community Organizing Internship: Currently filled. New internship starts in August 2009.
New Media Internship: Currently accepting applications. Apply today!
Design Intern: Currently filled. New internship starts November 2009.

Intern applications are kept on file, so there's no harm in applying now, but please bear in mind we may not look at your application for several months.

Volunteer opportunities

B-Word and Bitch are always looking for a few good folks to volunteer with us in our Portland office.

If you're interested in working with us as a volunteer here in Portland, we've got an application we'd love for you to fill out so we can figure out the best way to plug you in - you can download it in .pd f or Word format. Don't worry about making it perfect - this isn't a job application!

Also, if you live in the Portland area (or even if you don't but you'd like to stay informed on Bitch volunteer news) you can join b-word in PDX and keep up to date on all of the latest Bitch volunteer happenings.

Host a Bitch House Party!

We have a goal of raising $15,000 by June through our Bitch House Party Campaign. Bitch House Parties are a fun way to raise money and recruit new readership and supporters for your favorite feminist media organization. We were thinking pin the tail on the donkey or an ugly sweater party, but whatever type of fiesta you throw, you’ll be helping us to reach our goal!

Join the Street Team!

We need YOU to help with our Bitch subscription drive! Volunteer as a Street Team Captain, and you’ll have the power to spread the word and cultivate support for the most intelligently sassy feminist media organization around. All you need is a can-do attitude, an intense love for smart and witty journalism, and the swag we’ll send you to sign folks up as subscribers of Bitch. Ready? Go!
